Ticket Details

The castle features impressive chandeliers, elegant rooms, and luxurious furnishings, built in the 18th century, recognized as a major monument in the Ile-de-France region. Owned by Louis XVI since 1783, it has housed notable figures such as Napoleon I, Charles de Gaulle, and Valéry Giscard d'Estaing, allowing visitors to discover its magnificent halls at their own pace.

Visitors will also learn about various international summits held at the castle, including the first G7 meeting in 1975 and the Kosovo peace negotiations in 1999. The ticket grants access to the annexed buildings, including Marie Antoinette's dairy and the House of Shells, a guesthouse adorned with mollusk shells.

Additionally, the ticket includes access to the castle gardens, featuring diverse flowerbeds and parks surrounding a large ornamental pond with six artificial islands.

Opening Times

Rambouillet Castle is open every day except Tuesdays, with the following hours:

April 1 to September 30: 10 am to 12 pm and 1:30 pm to 6 pmOctober 1 to March 31: 10 am to 12 pm and 1:30 pm to 5 pm

Final admission is allowed 30 minutes before closing.

Free Admission

Admission is free for:

Young people aged 18 to 25 from the EU.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.

To obtain free admission, visitors must go to the ticket office with a document proving eligibility. Free admission is also available to everyone on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, as well as the third weekend of September.
