Why Visit the LAVA Centre?

This ticket grants access to a museum focused on Iceland's volcanoes and geological activity. Located in Hvolsvöllur, it features over 8 interactive spaces for an educational experience regarding different types of volcanoes in Iceland. The initial room presents an exhibition on 100 years of eruptions in Iceland with lights and sound effects.

The second room contains the "time wheel", illustrating the history of the country's seismic activity. The third room includes an eruption simulator showcasing the last significant earthquake in Iceland with high precision.

The fourth room features real sounds of the Eyjafjallajökull eruption. The fifth room comprises a geothermic corridor presenting geysers on the floor.

In the lava room, screens depict various types of eruptions and lava flows. The seventh room details the last eruption in Iceland, Fagradalseldar, on the Reykjanes peninsula.

Lastly, experience the room simulating a cloud of ash from the Eyjafjallajökull eruption in 2010. After visiting all 8 rooms, guests can enter the cinema, the observation platform, and the gift shop.
