South Iceland Quad Bike Tour
The South Iceland Quad Bike Tour offers an opportunity to explore black sandy beaches, volcanoes, and abandoned planes. Participants will meet at the base camp of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier, don thermal clothing, and receive an instructional briefing on operating the quad bikes.
The tour proceeds along Iceland's southern coast, requiring participants to cross small rivers and streams before reaching the black sandy beaches near the Katla volcano. Next, the team visits Sólheimasandur Beach, home to an abandoned plane wreck, where a discussion on the history of the crash will take place.
Following this stop, the adventure continues towards the Dyrhólaey cliffs, the southernmost point of Iceland. Participants will traverse the Jökulsá River to observe Mount Heiðarhorn.
The return trip to the base camp in Vík takes approximately 1 hour from the last stop, concluding the tour.
