Ravenna Private Tour
At a time of your choosing, we will meet outside the Basilica of St. Apollinaris to begin a walking tour of the main monuments of Ravenna. We will explore up to eight buildings recognized as World Heritage!
We will enter the temple of St Apolinar, built in 505 by King Theodoric the Great. Inside, you will learn about Ravenna's historical periods, including the Romans, Byzantines, and Visigoths.
Next, we will visit the 'Dantesque area', where Dante Alighieri's remains are located. We will see the façade of the building where he rests and proceed to the Neonian baptistery to admire the mosaic of Saint John the Baptist baptizing Jesus.
After this, we will walk around Piazza del Popolo, view Palazzo Rasponi, and arrive at the Basilica of San Vital, dating back to the 6th century, known for its Byzantine art mosaics, including the mausoleum of Gala Placidia.
After a two-hour private tour, we will conclude outside the mausoleum or at a central point of your choice.
