At a time of your choosing, meet outside the Basilica of St. Apollinaris to start a walking tour of Ravenna’s main monuments. Discover up to eight buildings recognized as World Heritage!

We will first enter the temple of St Apolinar, built in 505 by King Theodoric the Great. Admire the beautiful mosaics inside while learning about Ravenna’s historical periods: Romans, Byzantines, and Visigoths.

Next, visit the 'Dantesque area', where the remains of the Italian poet Dante Alighieri are located. Observe the façade of his resting place, then proceed to the Neonian baptistery, featuring the striking mosaic of Saint John the Baptist baptizing Jesus.

We then walk around Piazza del Popolo square, see Palazzo Rasponi square, and arrive at the Basilica of San Vital, dating back to the 6th century and known for its outstanding Byzantine art mosaics. Here, you will find the mausoleum of Gala Placidia.
