Arkadi Monastery, Margarites & Melidoni Cave Tour

After picking you up from your hotel in Rethymno between 7 am and 8 am, we'll drive to the Arkadi Monastery. There you'll have an hour of free time to explore the monastery and its museum, showcasing Ottoman relics and icons. Learn about its history in 1866 and during Venetian rule.

Next, we'll head to Margarites, a village known for traditional pottery. We'll visit a workshop for a demonstration by an expert craftsman. You will have half an hour of free time for lunch in a local restaurant.

The tour continues to a small oil factory, where we will learn about the production process of one of Crete's key products and the qualities of its olive oil.

Finally, we will visit Melidoni Cave, situated over 220 metres above sea level, known for its stalactites and stalagmites. The cave has historical significance as it was used for religious ceremonies and as a shelter during war.

We will conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in Rethymno between 5 pm and 6 pm.
