Arkadi Monastery, Margarites & Melidoni Cave Tour

After picking you up from your hotel in Rethymno between 7 am and 8 am, we'll drive to the Arkadi Monastery, one of the most notable places in Crete.

There you'll have an hour of free time to explore the monastery and its museum, which features Ottoman relics and icons. Learn about the historical events of 1866 and during Venetian rule.

Next, we'll head to Margarites, a village known for its traditional pottery. We'll enter a workshop where a craftsman will demonstrate the production process. You will have half an hour of free time for lunch at a local restaurant.

The tour continues to a small oil factory, where we'll learn about the evolution of oil production in Crete and the factors that contribute to its quality.

Finally, we'll visit Melidoni Cave, located at over 220 meters altitude, featuring impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The cave has historically been used for religious ceremonies and as a shelter during conflicts.

We'll conclude the tour by returning to your hotel in Rethymno between 5 pm and 6 pm.
