Arkadi Monastery, Margarites & Melidoni Cave Tour

After picking you up from your hotel in Rethymno between 7 am and 8 am, we will drive to the Arkadi Monastery. There, you will have an hour of free time to explore the monastery and visit its museum to learn about its history through Ottoman relics and icons.

Next, we will head to Margarites, a village known for traditional pottery. We will enter a workshop to see how local products are made, and you will have half an hour of free time for lunch in a local restaurant.

The tour continues with a visit to a small oil factory, where you will learn about the evolution of olive oil production and what makes Crete’s oil unique.

Finally, we will visit Melidoni Cave, located over 220 meters above sea level. Inside, you will see impressive stalactites and stalagmites. The cave has been used for religious ceremonies and as a shelter during conflict.

We will end the tour by returning to your hotel in Rethymno between 5 pm and 6 pm.
