Day Trip to Heraklion & Knossos

Travel back in time with this excursion to Heraklion. You'll learn about the history of the Minoans at the Palace of Knossos & the Archaeological Museum. A must for any visit to Crete!

Heraklion Day Trip + Knossos

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Rethymno and drive to Heraklion, stopping for a breakfast on the way. Around 10:30 am, we'll arrive in the capital of Crete.

Upon arrival, we'll visit the archaeological complex of Knossos with a guided tour. We'll explore the palace, significant in Minoan civilization and associated with King Minos, learning about legends like the Labyrinth and the tale of Daedalus and Icarus.

Next, we'll proceed to the Archaeological Museum. This guided tour includes unique remnants of Minoan culture, such as the sarcophagus of Agia Triada and the frescoes of the Minotaur and the Prince of the Lilies.

At around 1:30 pm, you'll have two hours of free time to explore Heraklion. Afterward, we will return to Rethymno, arriving at approximately 6:30 pm.
