On this excursion to Deildartunguhver Spring and Vidgelmir Cave, we will explore the largest lava grotto in Iceland and the fastest-flowing hot springs in Europe.
Description
We will gather at a designated meeting point in Reykjavik and depart for Deildartunguhver Spring. The tour will take us to the Borgarfjörður region in western Iceland, involving a scenic 2-hour drive. We will stop at the notable lava waterfalls, Hraunfossar and Barnafossar, known for their folk legends.
Next, we'll break in Húsafell for lunch on your own, followed by a visit to the Vidgelmir Cave, one of the largest lava caves in the world. We will explore its chambers featuring lava formations and learn about its geological history.
Afterward, we will return to Húsafell for some free time to explore or relax in a geothermal pool before concluding our day with a return to Reykjavik, approximately 10 hours after departure.
