Iceland Volcano Helicopter Tour

Marvel at Iceland's latest volcanic eruption from above on this helicopter tour from Reykjavik, a unique opportunity to see an active volcano up close.

Description

We will meet at Reykjavik Domestic Airport, located just a 5-minute drive from the city center. Once introductions are complete, we will board the helicopter and take off towards the site of some of Iceland's latest volcanic eruptions. The flight will take us over the Reykjanes Peninsula, showcasing characteristic Icelandic landscapes.

During the flight, we will soar over mountains and solidified lava rivers. As we approach the active volcanoes, there is a chance to see hot lava flowing, offering a powerful display of nature. Passengers will have opportunities to capture panoramic photos of the scenery.

Highlighted eruptions we will view from the air include Fagradalsfjall, Meradalir, Litli-Hrútur, and Sundhnúkur, with the latter erupting in March 2024. The total flight duration is between 30 and 35 minutes before returning to the departure point to conclude the tour.
