An iceberg-filled glacier lagoon, awe-inspiring waterfalls and a traditional village: explore the icy landscapes of southern Iceland on this day trip from Reykjavik.
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Reykjavik at the indicated time and set off on the drive to the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Throughout the journey, you'll enjoy the unique natural landscapes of Iceland.
We'll make our first stop at Seljalandsfoss, a waterfall with a drop of 200 feet (60 metres) located in front of a cave. If you're feeling adventurous, you can go behind the waterfall for a unique perspective of the cascade.
Continuing our route, we'll drive through the canyons formed by the Fjadrargljufur River, before stopping in Vík í Mýrdal. In this coastal village, known as Vík, you'll see the natural rock formations off the coast and have time for lunch (not included).
The highlight of the day is the visit to Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, an iceberg-filled lake with breathtaking scenery. Explore its black sand beaches where you may also see seals in the area.
At the end of the day, we will return to the minibus for the journey back to Reykjavik, arriving 14 hours later.
