Vibrantly colourful mountains, hot springs and volcanic landscapes: discover the incredible scenery of the Icelandic Highlands on this day trip to Landmannalaugar from Reykjavik.

Day Trip Details

Meet at the designated point in Reykjavik at the scheduled time in the morning. Set off towards the Highlands of Iceland and the Landmannalaugar nature reserve, known as the "pearl of the central Highlands".

Enter Landmannalaugar and embark on a light trek to appreciate the landscape. You will walk through a region with rivers and lakes, highlighted by the stunning Hnausapollur, a volcanic lake over 10,000 years old. Observe the natural contrasts of colours from turquoise crater lakes to vibrant mountain hues.

Explore the hills of Landmannalaugar, discovering the valley's vibrant colours. After the trek, you will have free time to rest and eat before proceeding to the region's natural pools. Take time to relax in the thermal springs surrounded by scenic landscapes.

Return to Reykjavik after the tour, passing close to Hekla, an active volcano known as the Gateway to Hell during the Middle Ages. Arrive back at the meeting point in Reykjavik after a total of 13 hours.
