Raufarhólshellir Lava Tunnel Tour

After meeting at your chosen time at the BSI Bus Terminal in Reykjavik, we will depart towards the Raufarhólshellir lava tunnel.

Upon arrival, we will equip ourselves with safety helmets and flashlights for a guided tour of the lava tube. The one-hour visit will cover approximately 1,150 feet (350 meters) of the tunnel, which is nearly 4,500 feet (1,360 meters) long and the fourth-longest lava tube in Iceland. Visitors will observe an array of colors from volcanic minerals while learning about the geological processes that formed this site over 5,000 years ago.

The tunnel features several wooden staircases and walkways, ensuring safe access to different areas of the cave. A notable site within the cave was featured in the movie Noah with Russell Crowe and Anthony Hopkins.

After the tour, we will return to our departure point by bus, completing a total duration of 3 hours.
