Northern Lights Tour

If you're looking for the best time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland, you're in the right place. We'll pick you up from your hotel at the indicated time and leave Reykjavík, taking you to an area free of light pollution, essential for viewing the Northern Lights.

During the tour, we'll explore how the aurora borealis forms, a phenomenon occurring almost exclusively in the polar regions, creating multi-coloured waves in the night sky. We will also discuss the superstitions related to these lights and the various types of aurorae.

In nature, surrounded by darkness, we'll admire the northern lights. You'll have free time to enjoy this phenomenon, walk under the colours, take pictures, and have hot chocolate along with traditional sweet snacks. After 4 hours of this natural beauty, we'll return to your hotel in Reykjavík.

Important Information

As this is a natural phenomenon, it's impossible to guarantee sightings of the Northern Lights. If they do not appear during the tour, we will offer another chance to see them, but no refunds are possible.

The optimal time to see the Northern Lights in Iceland is between September and April, though they can sometimes be seen at the end of August. A dark night with minimal artificial light is essential for optimal viewing.
