Mesmerizing lakes, volcanic areas, and the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates await you on Reykjanes Peninsula. Enjoy the natural wonders of Iceland on this day trip from Reykjavik!

Reykjanes Day Trip

After picking you up from your hotel in Reykjavik between 8:30 and 9 am, we'll set off on our day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula, a natural paradise in southwest Iceland.

Upon arrival, the unusual landscapes will captivate you. The first stop will be at Kleifarvatn, the largest lake on the peninsula, rumored to be home to a mysterious monster.

Next, we will visit the Krýsuvík geothermal area, characterized by colorful soil, hot springs, fumaroles, and maars, craters formed by groundwater explosions. We will see Grænavatn, a green lake created by these eruptions.

We will then head to the coast to enjoy the sea breeze and observe various bird species. We will also view Reykjanesviti, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland.

The final stop will be the bridge between two continents, which spans the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia. We will return to Reykjavik, arriving around 2:30 pm.
