Mesmerizing lakes, volcanic areas, and the rift between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates await you on Reykjanes Peninsula. Enjoy the natural wonders of Iceland on this day trip from Reykjavik!

Reykjanes Day Trip

Pickup from your hotel in Reykjavik occurs between 8:30 and 9 am. Then, we will set off for our day trip to the Reykjanes Peninsula.

Our first stop will be Kleifarvatn, the largest lake on the peninsula, noted in local legend for its mysterious monster. Next, we will proceed to the Krýsuvík geothermal area, known for hot springs, fumaroles, and craters. Here, we will also visit Grænavatn, a green lake formed by volcanic eruptions.

Continuing to the coast, you can enjoy the sea breeze and observe various bird species. We will also see Reykjanesviti, the oldest lighthouse in Iceland.

The final stop will be the bridge between two continents, which crosses the tectonic plates of North America and Eurasia. At the end of the day, we will return to Reykjavik, arriving around 2:30 pm.
