Get to know the beautiful landscapes of Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park on this hiking route through Paul Valley. You'll also walk through the largest crater on the island of Santo Antão!

Paul Valley Hiking Tour

At 9 am on the morning of the tour, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ribeira Grande. From there, we'll travel in a minibus to Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park.

During the tour, we'll hike through Paul Valley, known for its vegetation on the slopes of the Cova de Paul crater, which has a diameter of one kilometer, making it the largest crater in the archipelago. Over three hours, we'll walk along the edge of this crater and admire the agricultural fields.

We will also stop for views of the Atlantic Ocean and the natural formations in this area of Cape Verde. Following a zigzagging path, we will descend to the lowest part of the natural park, where we can see vineyards and plantations of sugar cane, banana, mango, avocado, and coconut. This will conclude our hiking route through the valley.

Before returning to your hotel, we will stop at a rum distillery for a taste of the traditional rum, grogue. The excursion will end around 2 pm.
