Hiking Tour in Paul Valley

The tour kicks off at 9 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Ribeira Grande. Once on board our comfortable minibus, we will head towards the Cova-Paul-Ribeira da Torre Natural Park. Are you ready to immerse yourself in the breathtaking scenery on the island of Santo Antão?

As we embark on this trek, we will traverse the renowned Paul Valley, a lush paradise filled with flourishing vegetation on the slopes of the enormous Cova de Paul crater. Did you know that this caldera has a diameter of a full kilometer? It is indeed the most expansive crater in the entire archipelago. Over a span of three hours, we will stroll along the rim of this impressive crater while enjoying views of the vibrant agricultural fields surrounding us.

Our journey includes stops to admire breathtaking panoramas of the Atlantic Ocean alongside the unique natural formations found in this region of Cape Verde. Following a winding path, we will gently descend to the lower sections of the natural park, where you can observe vineyards and various plantations, including sugar cane, bananas, mangoes, avocados, and coconuts. A charming way to conclude our hike through this spectacular valley!

To top off this experience, we will visit a rum distillery before heading back to your accommodation, where you can sample the famous grogue, the traditional rum of Santo Antão. By around 2 pm, we will wrap up this delightful excursion.
