Explore beautiful natural landscapes on this day trip to Santo Antão, the northernmost island of the Cape Verde archipelago.
Santo Antão Island Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santo Antão and begin a private tour of the island. Our first stop will be at Cova de Paul, the largest crater of the archipelago, which has a diameter of 1 kilometer. We will visit a viewpoint for panoramic views, and then proceed to the Delgadinho mountain ridge.
Next, we will make a brief stop in the picturesque village of Povoação before continuing to the northern tip of the island. We will visit the viewpoint of Ponta do Sol for views of the Pacific Ocean and meet local fishermen to learn about their traditions.
Following this, we will stop at Fontainhas, recognized as one of the 10 villages with the most beautiful views in the world by National Geographic, where you can taste local cuisine. We will then move to the green valley of Paul, noted for its natural beauty.
We will also visit a distillery to learn about the preparation of grogue, the traditional rum of Santo Antão. The tour will conclude with a visit to the old Jewish village of Sinagoga, returning to your hotel by 4 pm.
Distillery Availability
The distillery is only open from 1st January to 31st May. If booked outside these dates, this part of the tour will be skipped, resulting in a shorter duration.
