Day Trip to Santo Antão Island

Your journey begins at 9 am when we will collect you from your accommodation in Santo Antão for a personalized exploration of this stunning African island.

Our first destination will be the Cova de Paul, the archipelago's largest crater, featuring a remarkable diameter of 1 kilometer! We'll pause at a scenic viewpoint to absorb the magnificent panoramic vistas before proceeding to the distinctive Delgadinho mountain ridge.

Next, after a brief visit to the charming village of Povoacão, we'll continue our adventure toward the island's northernmost point. Here, we'll take you to the Ponta do Sol viewpoint, where breathtaking views of the expansive Pacific Ocean await. You’ll have the chance to meet local fishermen, who will share insights into their age-old customs!

Our journey continues to Fontainhas, a village hailed by National Geographic as one of the top 10 villages with the most stunning views globally. After experiencing the charm of this picturesque locale, where you can sample traditional dishes, we'll navigate towards the lush valley of Paul, recognized as one of the most picturesque areas in Cape Verde!

To enhance your experience, we’ll visit a local distillery and delve into the process of making grogue, the beloved traditional rum of Santo Antão. Finally, we will take you to the historic village of Sinagoga, and at 4 pm, we'll return you to your hotel, concluding the tour.

Distillery Schedule

Please note that the distillery is open exclusively from January 1st to May 31st. If your tour is booked outside of these dates, we will omit this visit, and the overall duration of the excursion will be shortened.
