Hill of Crosses, Rundāle Palace & Bauska Castle Day Trip

Description

Participants will meet at the main entrance of the Riga Cathedral at the scheduled time. The tour begins with a drive through the Latvian landscape and a stop at the border between Latvia and Lithuania for photos. Upon reaching the Hill of Crosses, the guide will discuss its history and significance, highlighting the thousands of crosses that symbolize prayers and resilience.

After the visit, the tour will proceed to the Rund?le Palace. Guests will explore its opulent interior and learn about the lifestyle of the dukes of Curlandia in the 18th century, including the French-style gardens and various decorated rooms such as the State Rooms, the Golden Salon, and the Grand Gallery.

Lunch will be provided at a nearby restaurant, followed by a visit to Bauska Castle. Participants will ascend the renovated tower for panoramic views and tour the castle’s interior, learning about its history as a medieval fortification.

The tour lasts for approximately 8 hours and will conclude back at the starting point in Riga.
