Day Trip Details

After picking you up from your hotel in Riga at the designated time, we'll head to Cesis, the third oldest city in Latvia.

Upon arrival, we'll set off on a guided walking tour to discover attractions of this medieval city. We'll walk through the old town of Cesis, which is perfectly preserved after more than 800 years of history. We'll stop at places of interest including Roze Square, the Princess's House, and St. John's Church.

We'll then approach Cesis Castle, a medieval fortress rich in history. To learn more about the castle, we'll go inside and enjoy a candlelit climb up its towers. The views from the top will be remarkable!

After the castle tour, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch in a local restaurant. We'll then regroup and explore the nature surrounding Cesis. We'll embark on a 6-kilometre hiking route to admire the red sandstone cliffs of the Gauja River valley.

Finally, we'll return to Riga, completing the excursion after a total of 8 hours.
