Riga Art Nouveau Tour
Riga has the highest number of Art Nouveau buildings in Europe. The tour begins at 3:30 pm by the Laima Clock. Over two hours, participants will explore a collection of Art Nouveau buildings, including the Opera House, the University, the German Embassy, and the Nativity Cathedral, primarily constructed between 1904 and 1914, when Riga was notably prosperous in the Russian Empire.
The tour includes a visit to Alberta Street, known for its eight protected buildings, boasting colorful façades and intricate details. Additionally, attendees will learn about Mikhail Eisenstein, a significant Art Nouveau architect. The tour concludes at the entrance of the Art Nouveau Museum at 4 pm.
