Riga Art Nouveau Tour

Riga is the European city with the highest number of Art Nouveau buildings. If you want to explore them, we'll meet at 3:30 pm by the Laima Clock.

We'll spend two hours walking through the streets of Riga to see its impressive collection of Art Nouveau buildings, including the Opera House, the University, the German Embassy, and the Nativity Cathedral, most of which were built between 1904 and 1914, during a prosperous time in the Russian Empire.

We'll learn about these buildings while passing through the historic centre of Riga, specifically Alberta Street, home to 8 protected buildings. The colorful façades and detailed decorations will be noteworthy highlights.

Additionally, we'll explore the history of prominent Art Nouveau architect Mikhail Eisenstein. The tour will conclude at the entrance of the Art Nouveau Museum at 4 pm.
