Experience the remarkable array of artistic movements found in Riga's historic center, spanning from the Medieval period through the Renaissance and later styles. This exclusive private walking experience, delivered in English, provides an insightful exploration into the architectural and cultural legacy of Latvia’s capital.

Tour Overview

We will gather at the Freedom Monument at the scheduled time and begin our exploration of the vibrant old town of Latvia's capital. Let’s embark on our private tour of Riga!

Our first stop will be the Town Hall Square, which dates back to the 13th century. Here, we will encounter the city's most recognizable structure: the House of the Black Heads. Curious about the origins of its name and its commissioning? These intriguing details will be unveiled during our visit.

We will then proceed to St. Peter's Church, notable for its various reconstructions through the ages. Did you know that its tower offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views in Riga? Additionally, we will admire the Three Brothers, a trio of buildings that exemplify the distinctive architectural characteristics of the Baltic countries.

Continuing our journey, we’ll head to the Cathedral of St. James, a striking instance of Gothic red brick architecture. Following this, we'll visit the Swedish Gate, the last remaining entry point of Riga's original city walls, which once had a total of eight gates.

Our walk will take us down Str?lnieku iela, a street renowned for its collection of Latvia's most iconic and picturesque structures. Here, we will immerse ourselves in a captivating mix of architectural styles, including Art Nouveau and Baroque.

We will conclude our private tour after two enriching hours spent exploring these historic sites.
