At the designated time, we'll meet up and set off on our Soviet tour of Riga. Explore the city's darkest moments in history as we walk through its streets.
During the tour, we will admire the iconic Academy of Sciences, known as Stalin's birthday cake, and learn the story behind its nickname. Inside the Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, we'll delve into the conflict between Germans and Russians that turned Riga into a battleground during World War II.
We will pay tribute to the Latvian Fusiliers at the monument in Laukums Square, discussing its Soviet-era connections. Additionally, we’ll pass by significant landmarks, such as the Monument to the Deportation, the Cathedral of the Nativity of Riga, the Parliament building, and the Memorial of the Barricades.
