The Treasure Cave (Cueva del Tesoro), located in Rincón de la Victoria, is a geological and archaeological gem that allows you to explore the only submarine-origin cave in Europe open to the public. Formed over 145 million years ago, this extraordinary site was sculpted by the sea, and today it offers a unique walk through a world of stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and natural lakes.

History, legends, and archaeology

Discovered in the 19th century, the cave holds remains from the Paleolithic and Bronze Age, as well as prehistoric cave art, evidencing ancient human presence. With the included audioguide, you'll not only learn about the cave’s natural formation but also dive into thrilling tales like the Legend of Noctiluca and the story of the Five Moorish Kings, which fuel the myth of the hidden treasure that gives the cave its name.

Practical information for your visit

The Treasure Cave is open every day, with seasonal hours:

• Winter (Oct 1 – Apr 30): 10:00–13:00 and 15:00–17:00
• Summer (May 1 – Sep 30): 10:30–13:00 and 16:30–19:00

Free entry is available Monday to Friday during the first hour of opening, with prior reservation (maximum of 25 people).
Just 15 km from Málaga city, the cave is easily accessible by car (free parking available) or public transportation, via bus lines M-160, M-163, M-260, M-261, M-262, M-363, and M-364 from the Málaga Transport Consortium.
