Dona Marta Favela Tour

Join us on a tour of Rio's Dona Marta favela, exploring the colorful houses and their connection to Michael Jackson.

Tour Details

We will meet at Corumbá Square before heading into the Dona Marta favela. A funicular train will take us to the highest point of the favela.

We will walk through the streets while learning about the history of the colorful houses that are home to approximately 8,000 residents. You will witness various educational projects that counter negative stereotypes, visit the Dona Marta arts center, the favela's sports center, and various street art murals.

Additionally, we will stop at Laje do Michael Jackson, a viewpoint featuring a statue of the singer, known for being the backdrop of his music video 'They Don't Care About Us'. You will enjoy a spectacular view of the region's mountains.

The tour lasts 2 hours, concluding with a walk back to the starting point.
