Dona Marta Favela Tour

Join us on a tour of Rio's Dona Marta favela. Experience the colorful houses and learn their connection to Michael Jackson.

Tour Details

We will meet at the designated time in Corumbá Square before heading into the Dona Marta favela. A funicular train will take us to the highest point of the favela.

As we walk through the streets, you will learn about the history of the area, home to approximately 8,000 residents. The tour will highlight various educational projects established here. We will visit the Dona Marta arts center, the favela's sports center, and view street art murals and traditional houses.

We will also stop at Laje do Michael Jackson, a viewpoint featuring a statue of the singer, as this location was the backdrop for his music video 'They Don't Care About Us'. Enjoy a panoramic view of the surrounding mountains.

The tour concludes after approximately 2 hours, returning on foot to the starting point.
