If you want the most exclusive views of Rio de Janeiro, then join us on a brilliant hike up Sugarloaf Mountain Hike.
Sugarloaf Mountain Hike
We'll meet at Praça General Tibúrcio square in front of the angel statue. The hike lasts 1.5 hours along the Costão route to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain. The first part of the hike takes us along the Claudio Coutinho trail for about thirty minutes, where we will see native plant species, and possibly spot a monkey.
The ascent will involve scrambling through rocky terrain followed by climbing 50 feet with a rope up a steep cliff. Expert instructors will assist you throughout the climb. As we ascend, you will enjoy views across Guanabara Bay and the region of Niterói.
Before reaching the summit, we will stop at the Philosopher's Stone, a viewpoint offering beautiful landscapes of the southern part of Rio, then we will continue to the summit of Sugarloaf Mountain.
The descent will be easier, as we will take the free cable car to Morro da Urca. From there, it's a short walk of about 30 minutes down a quiet path to the foot of Sugarloaf Mountain.
After 4 hours, we'll conclude at the departure point.
