San Miguel de Tucumán Tour
At 2 pm, we will commence our journey from your accommodation in Termas de Río Hondo towards the historic city of San Miguel de Tucumán, renowned as one of the most significant historical locales in northern Argentina.
Our exploration begins at 9 de Julio Park, where we will encounter the iconic Floral Clock. Following this, we will navigate the city center, taking a leisurely walk around the Plaza de la Independencia. Here, we'll admire prominent structures such as the Government House and the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación.
After delving into the backstory of this religious site, we will proceed to the historic district near the Casa Histórica de la Independencia, a pivotal location in Argentina’s narrative, for it was here on 9 July 1816 that the nation declared its independence from Spanish rule.
A short distance from the Casa Histórica stands the church of Santo Domingo, commonly referred to as the minor basilica of Nuestra Señora del Rosario. Its neoclassical façade, located on Calle 9 de Julio, evokes the grandeur of Italy’s magnificent churches.
To conclude our enriching journey through the historical heart of Tucumán, we will return to Termas de Río Hondo, with an anticipated arrival at your hotel by 8 pm.
