On this boat trip around Puerto Sánchez, we will sail along the coast and visit the well-known marble caverns in General Carrera Lake, exploring the fauna and nature of the Aysén region.
Puerto Sánchez & Marble Caverns Boat Tour
We will meet at your preferred time at the pier of Puerto Sánchez. From there, we will set sail aboard the Starfish V along the western flank of General Carrera Lake, with waters under Chilean sovereignty on the west and Argentinean on the east.
During the voyage, we will see old boats from the mining era in Puerto Sánchez, stranded along the coast but still retaining parts of their hulls and masts.
We will continue beside the marble caverns of General Carrera Lake, which stretch along a 980-meter ridge. From the boat deck, you can admire these unique caves, shaped by years of erosion.
As we sail, we will learn about the historical and geological past of the region and try to spot various Patagonian birds endemic to the area, including species like Andean condors and cormorants, highlighting the region's biodiversity.
We will conclude this journey, lasting approximately one hour and 20 minutes, with the return to the departure dock.
