Embark on a remarkable boat journey across Puerto Sánchez as we navigate the stunning coast and explore the renowned marble caverns. This unforgettable experience on General Carrera Lake invites you to engage with the vibrant fauna and breathtaking nature of Chile's Aysén region.
Boat Tour: Puerto Sánchez & Marble Caverns
Your adventure begins at the pier of Puerto Sánchez, where you can choose a departure time that suits you. We will board the Starfish V and set off alongside the western shore of General Carrera Lake, which features Chilean waters in the west and Argentine waters to the east.
As we cruise through this picturesque corner of Aysén, we'll encounter historic vessels from the mining period of Puerto Sánchez. These abandoned boats can be seen along the shoreline, still showcasing fragments of their hulls and masts.
The journey will also take us past the impressive marble caverns that stretch over a length of 980 meters. From the boat, take the opportunity to admire and capture images of these extraordinary caves, sculpted over years by natural erosion.
Throughout our sail, we will delve into the geological and historical narrative of the area, all while seeking out various Patagonian bird species that thrive in the natural landscape. This region boasts a rich biodiversity, home to magnificent creatures like Andean condors and cormorants.
We will wrap up our enriching journey, approximately an hour and 20 minutes long, with our return to the dock where we began.
