Puerto Sanchez Marble Caves Boat Trip
The boat trip on Lake General Carrera begins at the dock of Puerto Tranquilo, where you'll set sail at your chosen time towards the shores of Puerto Sanchez.
We will first sail along the coast of Panichini Island. This uninhabited islet provides shelter for several historical ships that will be observed during the crossing. After learning about their history, we’ll continue to the marble caves of Puerto Sanchez.
From the boat, a close-up view of these lake caves, formed by calcium carbonate and shaped by water and wind erosion, reveals spectacular geological formations in greyish and bluish tones.
The journey through the Aysén region in Chilean Patagonia also allows for observance of a large colony of Andean condors in their natural habitat.
After sailing for an hour and 45 minutes along the coast of Puerto Sanchez, we'll return to the starting point in Puerto Tranquilo.
