Puerto Tranquilo Marble Caves Boat Trip
At a time of your choice, we'll set sail from the dock of Puerto Tranquilo to navigate the western part of the General Carrera Lake, one of the most beautiful places in the Chilean region of Aysén.
We'll start this boat trip along the shore of Puerto Tranquilo by the marble caves. From the boat, we'll see how the greyish and bluish tones merge in these lake caves, all part of a protected area declared a National Monument of Chile in 1994 in the category of Nature Sanctuary.
We'll sail along 500 metres (1640 feet) of caves, where we'll enter to observe the marble ceilings. We will then continue to the marble tunnel, making another stop to appreciate this whitish calcium carbonate cavity.
Continuing our journey on Lake General Carrera, we will head towards the islets of the cathedral and the marble chapel of Puerto Tranquilo, two main natural monuments of Aysén. After an hour and a half sailing, we'll conclude the boat trip at the departure pier.
