Birdwatching in Rio Lagartos
We'll meet at the designated time at the Río Lagartos boardwalk, where we'll board a boat to navigate through the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve.
This protected area is noted for its ornithological richness and is a key environmental asset of the northern Yucatan Peninsula. During the trip, we will view the renowned flamingos of Rio Lagartos. Discover the reason behind their distinctive pink color!
While sailing, we'll spot various Yucatan native birds such as pelicans, herons, and large American eagles. Crocodiles may also be seen swimming through the mangroves.
We will then proceed to the beach of Río Lagartos to take in its emerald-green waters. The tour lasts 1.5 hours, concluding back at the departure pier.

The tour runs between 7 am and 10 am, which is the optimal time for bird visibility in the Ría Lagartos Biosphere Reserve. The exact time of departure will be communicated in advance.
