Join us to discover a unique landscape in Mexico on this panoramic tour of Las Coloradas. We'll see the incredible pink-colored salt flats!
Description
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Las Coloradas Tourist Park to begin this panoramic tour. Throughout the tour, we'll explore this small fishing port on the northern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The tour starts at the Las Coloradas Natural Park, which is a wetland rich in biodiversity and a protected area categorized as a Biosphere Reserve, highlighting its ecological importance.
We will explore the lagoons and learn about their characteristics. The salt production here creates an ideal habitat for various aquatic birds, including the rare Caribbean Pink Flamingo, which we might spot during our visit.
Next, we will tour the largest salt plant in Mexico, viewing the sea salt production process via evaporation, the formation of salt crystals, and storage in large mounds. This area offers a unique landscape that resembles the moon.
Before concluding the tour, we will have time to take photos of the pink waters of Las Coloradas. The tour lasts approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes before we return to the meeting point to say our goodbyes.
