On this night cruise through the mangroves of Ria Lagartos we'll see some of the nocturnal animals inhabit the northern coast of the Yucatan.
Description
We'll meet at the designated time at the Rio Lagartos boardwalk, from where we will embark on our cruise through the mangroves of this area on the northern coast of Yucatan.
Guided by the light of the starry skies, we'll make our way to the estuary of Ria Lagartos, a protected area declared a Biosphere Reserve, home to numerous nocturnal animals that contribute to this ecosystem's biodiversity.
As we sail, we'll likely encounter crocodiles swimming among the mangroves. These reptiles generally hunt during these hours.
Along the way, we'll also take the opportunity to do some stargazing. This area of Yucatan experiences almost no light pollution, providing views of the night sky without the need for telescopes.
After a total of 1.5 hours, we'll conclude this night cruise at the pier from which we departed.
