Description

At the designated meeting point, we will gather at the Rio Lagartos boardwalk before setting sail on a thrilling boat journey through the mangrove waterways.

Our adventure will guide us into the mangroves found in the Ria Lagartos estuary. This natural habitat on the northern Yucatan coast, noted for its designation as a Biosphere Reserve, is home to over 1,450 plant species. As we navigate through, you will gain insight into the key botanical traits that identify each variety.

The Ria Lagartos reserve is recognized for its vast array of aquatic birds. Throughout the excursion, there will be opportunities to spot various species including cranes, pelicans, and hawks, among others. Additionally, if conditions are right, we might catch a glimpse of the renowned American flamingos.

We will persist in our exploration of the mangrove pathways while delving into other captivating elements of this ecosystem. The cruise will take us along the coastline of the Rio Lagartos beach, allowing us to admire the stunning views in the region.

Concluding our 2.5-hour exploration of the Ria Lagartos estuary mangroves, we will return to our initial departure point.
