Your adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Riobamba at 8 am, followed by a scenic drive towards the Atillo Lagoons, situated within the stunning Sangay National Park. Join us as we delve into nature!

As we progress, we will traverse through rural Indigenous communities before reaching a breathtaking viewpoint overlooking the lakes. Here, you can admire the serene beauty of Cuyo, Colay, and Atillo Lakes. Following this, a leisurely walk will take us to the Negra Lagoon, a dark water body accompanied by an intriguing dark Puruhae legend.

Our exploration continues with a brief trek aimed at discovering the diverse plant life of the region. We’ll delve into the characteristics of flora such as lupinus, chocho de páramo, valeriana, and flor de páramo. Additionally, expect to spot some migratory cuvivis birds along the way.

Feeling hungry? Our next highlight will be a traditional lunch, featuring delicious grilled trout, served alongside a fresh salad, cooked corn, and a delectable cheese sauce.

After our meal, we will proceed to the Chalán ravine to observe the remarkable footprints of Pleistocene mastodons that date back 40,000 years. A true marvel!

As the day draws to a close, we will begin our return journey to Riobamba, ensuring you're back at your hotel by 5 pm. We look forward to seeing you again!
