Discover a beautiful and unique spot in the Andes on our Atillo Lagons Day Trip. We'll set off from Riobamba and walk through a misty, scenic area bursting with lush greenery.

Atillo Lagons Day Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba at 8 am and depart for the Atillo Lagoons, located in Sangay National Park.

On the way, we will pass through rural Indigenous communities until reaching the viewpoint of the lakes, where we will see Cuyo, Colay, and Atillo Lakes. We will then stroll to the Negra Lagoon, known for its black water and associated dark Puruhae legend.

A short walk will follow, focusing on the area's flora, including plants like lupinus, chocho de páramo, valeriana, and flor de páramo. We will also observe migratory cuvivis birds.

For lunch, we will enjoy a traditional meal of grilled trout with a side of salad, cooked corn, and cheese sauce.

Following lunch, we will visit the Chalán ravine to see the footprints of 40,000-year-old Pleistocene mastodons.

We will return to Riobamba, dropping you off at your hotel by 5 pm. See you next time!
