Chimborazo Volcano 2-Day Hike

Day 1

Pickup begins at 7 am from your hotel in Riobamba. We will travel to Urbina for a breakfast stop before proceeding to the Chimborazo Volcano foothills to begin our adventure.

The hike spans 6 miles (10 kilometers) to an altitude of 13,615 feet (4,150 meters) at the Urku Wasi lodge. Upon arrival, a lunch will be provided. We will then embark on a route to the Condor Samana Waterfall, a natural feature formed by a melted volcanic glacier that is 131 feet (40 meters) high.

Following our exploration, we will return to the lodge for dinner under the night sky of the Ecuadorian Andes.

Day 2

Breakfast will be served before we start a 5-hour hike through the Abraspung Valley to view the Carihuirazo and Chimborazo volcanoes. Expect to see alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas along the route.

After lunch, we will make our way back down the volcano and take a minibus home, including a stop at La Chorrera Canyon to view its 656-foot (200-meter) high rock walls.

We anticipate returning to your hotel in Riobamba by 5 pm.
