Chimborazo Volcano Bike Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and take you to the Hermanos Carrel mountain lodge, located at an altitude of 5,900 feet (1,800 metres). There, you'll receive a bag with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and some juice for the halfway point.

We'll take a short walk to a second refuge to see the Condorcocha Lagoon, which sits at an elevation of 16,732 feet (5,100 metres). Afterwards, we'll return to the Hermanos Carrel camp to begin a cycling tour of the Chimborazo Volcano.

This 23-mile (38-kilometre) route starts in a dry paramo area, where we will observe herds of vicuñas, curiquingues, and stellate hummingbirds, as well as plants like ñáchag, romerillo, and ashpachocho while enjoying views of the Central Andes.

We'll cross winding rural goat trails called chaquiñanes and cycle through a colossal gorge with green meadows until we reach the village of San Juan, where our cycling experience concludes.

The tour will end as we arrive back at your hotel in Riobamba at 5 pm.
