Ride through the foothills of the Ecuadorian Andes and zigzag along winding paths on our Chimborazo Volcano Bike Tour. We'll leave Riobamba behind for an incredible adventure.

Chimborazo Volcano Bike Tour

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and take you to the Hermanos Carrel mountain lodge, located at an altitude of 5,900 feet (1,800 metres). Upon arrival, you will receive a bag with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and juice for the halfway point.

A short walk will take us to a second refuge to see the Condorcocha Lagoon, situated at an elevation of 16,732 feet (5,100 metres). Afterward, we will return to the Hermanos Carrel camp to begin the cycling tour of the Chimborazo Volcano.

This 23-mile (38-kilometre) route starts in a dry paramo area where herds of vicuñas, curiquingues, and stellate hummingbirds can be observed. You will also see plants such as ñáchag, romerillo, and ashpachocho while enjoying views of the Central Andes.

We will cross winding rural goat trails called chaquiñanes and cycle through a colossal gorge with green meadows until we reach the village of San Juan, where our cycling experience will conclude.

The tour will finish at 5 pm when we return to your hotel in Riobamba.
