Chimborazo volcano Full Day Tour

At 8:00 am, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and head towards the Chimborazo volcano.

On the way, we'll make several stops at viewpoints of the snow-capped mountain for photographs and to enjoy the scenery. At around 11:30 am, we'll arrive at the first refuge of Chimborazo, located at 15,748 feet (4,800 metres) above sea level.

From this point, we'll start a 0.6-mile (1 kilometre) walk to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, located at 16,732 feet (5,100 metres). We'll also pass the second refuge of Chimborazo, the Whymper, at 5,000 meters. This hike will take approximately two and a half hours.

After visiting Chimborazo, we'll go to the impressive cliff of La Chorrera, located at 13,123 feet (4,000 metres) above sea level. After this stretch, at 2:00 pm, we'll head to the area of San Juan for a traditional lunch including chicken fillet with rice and salad, barley rice soup or quinoa, and seasonal fruit juice.

Finally, after lunch, we'll return to your hotel in Riobamba, arriving at 4:00 pm.
