Chimborazo volcano Full Day Tour

At 8:00 am, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and proceed to the Chimborazo volcano.

We will make several stops to view the snow-capped mountain and take photographs. At approximately 11:30 am, we will arrive at the first refuge of Chimborazo, located at 15,748 feet (4,800 meters) above sea level.

From this point, we will start a 0.6-mile (1 kilometer) hike to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, at 16,732 feet (5,100 meters) above sea level. We will also pass the second refuge, the Whymper, at 5,000 meters. This hike will take about two and a half hours.

After visiting Chimborazo, we will go to the cliff of La Chorrera, at 13,123 feet (4,000 meters) above sea level. At 2:00 pm, we will head to the area of San Juan for a traditional lunch of chicken fillet with rice and salad, barley rice soup or quinoa, and seasonal fruit juice.

After lunch, we will return to your hotel in Riobamba, arriving around 4:00 pm.
