With this hiking route through the Chimborazo volcano reserve, you'll walk through valleys rich in history and see the closest terrestrial point to the sun.

Description

At the designated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and head to the La Chorrera canyon, where we start a 15-km trekking route in the Chimborazo volcano reserve.

During the hike, you will learn about some endemic plants and may see herds of friendly vicuñas. We will pass by the first Carrel refuge and after 1.5 km, we will reach the Whymper refuge.

Next, we’ll continue to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, situated at an altitude of 5,100 meters above sea level. We will then descend to La Chorrera Canyon to visit the Chimborazo viewpoint, where you can enjoy the scenery. A delicious snack will be provided to refresh.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba, with an expected duration of 7-8 hours.
