With this hiking route through the Chimborazo volcano reserve, you'll walk through valleys with a lot of history and you'll see the closest terrestrial point to the sun!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and head to the La Chorrera canyon, where we'll start a 15-km trekking route through the Chimborazo volcano reserve.
As we hike, we'll learn about endemic plants and may encounter herds of vicuñas. Along the way, we'll pass by the first Carrel refuge and, 1.5 km later, we'll arrive at the Whymper refuge.
Next, we'll continue the trail to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, at an altitude of 5,100 meters. We will then descend to La Chorrera Canyon and visit the Chimborazo viewpoint for scenic views. A snack will be provided to recharge.
Finally, we'll return to Riobamba, arriving 7-8 hours later.
