  • 9 hours

During the horseback riding adventure at the Chimborazo Volcano, you'll experience the stunning landscapes of this remarkable location in a memorable manner. This is an ideal choice for families exploring the Ecuadorian Andes!

Horseback Riding Journey at Chimborazo Volcano

After picking you up from your accommodation in Riobamba at the scheduled time, we will travel towards the base of the Chimborazo Volcano. Upon reaching the refuge, we'll embark on a 3-hour ride at an impressive altitude of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet).

As we ride, we'll traverse paths adorned with unique plant species native to this region, including the almohadilla, the ashpachocho, the climbing flower, and the caballochupa. You will also encounter the sociable Andean vicuñas, which belong to the high mountain camelid family.

Approximately at 2:30 pm, we will pause for a break, enjoying a sandwich, some fruit, and juice. This moment will allow us to take in the stunning vistas of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, which are part of the western Andes.

After our respite, we'll proceed on horseback towards the Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a breathtaking 131-foot (40-metre) cascade formed by glacial melt. The water here is reputed to possess therapeutic benefits.

Finally, it's time to bid farewell to our horses and make our way back to Riobamba. We expect to arrive back at your hotel around 5 pm.
