Itinerary

Your journey begins with a convenient pickup from your hotel in Riobamba at the scheduled time. We'll travel towards the base of the majestic Chimborazo Volcano, where our adventure truly begins. Upon arrival at the refuge, we will embark on a 3-hour horse riding expedition, ascending to an impressive altitude of 4,100 meters (13,451 feet).

As we navigate scenic trails, you will encounter a rich variety of flora unique to this region, including the almohadilla, ashpachocho, the climber’s flower, and the caballochupa. You may also observe the charming Andean vicuñas, high-altitude camelids that inhabit these stunning landscapes.

Approximately at 2:30 pm, we'll pause our riding adventure to enjoy a well-deserved break with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and some juice. This interval not only allows you to refuel but also presents a perfect opportunity to soak in the breathtaking views of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, prominent mountains within the Andes' western range.

After our rest, we will mount our horses once more and ride towards the spectacular Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a 131-foot (40-meter) cascade formed from the melting glaciers nearby. The waters here are noted for their therapeutic qualities.

Finally, we will bid farewell to our equine companions as we return to Riobamba, with the arrival back at your hotel scheduled for 5 pm.
