Horse Riding Activity at the Chimborazo Volcano

This horse riding activity begins with pick-up from your hotel in Riobamba at the designated time, followed by a trip to the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano. Upon arrival at the refuge, participants will embark on a 3-hour horse ride at an altitude of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet).

The route features trails with endemic plant life, including the almohadilla, ashpachocho, climber's flower, and caballochupa. Riders may encounter Andean vicuñas, a species of high mountain camelid.

A break is scheduled around 2:30 pm for refreshments, including a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and juice, providing an opportunity to enjoy views of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, part of the western Andes range.

The tour continues on horseback to the Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a 131-foot (40-metre) waterfall formed by melting glaciers, noted for its therapeutic water. After this experience, participants will return to Riobamba, with arrival at the hotel expected at 5 pm.
