Horse Riding Activity at the Chimborazo Volcano

After picking you up from your hotel in Riobamba, we will travel to the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano. Upon arrival at the refuge, we will start a 3-hour horse ride at an altitude of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet).

During the ride, we will traverse trails rich in endemic plant life, including the almohadilla, ashpachocho, climber's flower, and caballochupa. We may also encounter friendly Andean vicuñas, a species of high mountain camelid.

At approximately 2:30 pm, there will be a break for refreshments, including a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and some juice. This pause will allow us to appreciate the views of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, located in the western range of the Andes.

Following the break, we will ride towards the Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a 131-foot (40-metre) waterfall formed by melting glaciers, noted for its therapeutic properties.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba, with an expected arrival time at your hotel of 5 pm.
