Inca Trail 3-Day Hike
Day 1: Riobamba - Tres Cruces
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba. Our hike will begin in Achupallas, located at an altitude of 10,826 feet (3,300 metres), where you'll have a picnic lunch. We'll hike for 4 hours through green meadows, reaching an altitude of 12,959 feet (3,950 metres) to set up our campsite around Tres Cruces for dinner.
Day 2: Achupallas - Patococha
We'll start with breakfast and then embark on a 7-hour hike to the Cuchilla de Tres Cruces at an altitude of 13,123 feet (4,000 metres). You'll have a bag of food to enjoy along the way. We'll visit the Culebrillas Lagoon and the archaeological site of Paredones de Molleturo to see the remains of three Inca temples. The day concludes at Patococha Lagoon where we'll camp for the night.
Day 3: Patococha - Ingapirca - Riobamba
After breakfast, we'll walk for 4 hours to the ruins of Ingapirca, the largest Inca remains in Ecuador. We'll explore the Temple of Sun and learn about the Inca invasion of the Cañari people. A traditional lunch follows before our return to Riobamba, with an arrival at your hotel around 5 pm.
