Inca Trail 3-Day Hike

Day 1: Riobamba - Tres Cruces

At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and begin our journey on the Inca Trail, which spans across Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. Our hike starts in Achupallas, situated at an altitude of 10,826 feet (3,300 metres), where we will have a picnic lunch. Following this, we will hike for 4 hours through green meadows, reaching an altitude of 12,959 feet (3,950 metres) to set up camp and enjoy dinner in the Tres Cruces area.

Day 2: Achupallas - Patococha

We will start the day with breakfast and embark on a 7-hour hike to the Cuchilla de Tres Cruces, located at 13,123 feet (4,000 metres), offering views of the Sansahuín Lagoon. A food bag will be provided for lunch. We will then descend to Culebrillas Lagoon, learn about its Cañari legend, and visit the archaeological site of Paredones de Molleturo, observing the remains of three Inca temples. We will end the day at Patococha Lagoon, where we'll camp and have dinner.

Day 3: Patococha - Ingapirca - Riobamba

After breakfast, we will hike for 4 hours to the Ingapirca ruins, the largest Inca remains in Ecuador. At the Temple of Sun, we will discuss the Inca invasion of the Cañari people and its architectural evidence. A traditional lunch follows before traveling back to Riobamba, with hotel arrival scheduled for 5 pm.
