Riobamba, Guano & Pucará Tambo Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba at the specified time and take you to the historic center for a walking tour. This will include a visit to the city's viewpoint for views of the Chimborazo Volcano, followed by a stop at St. Peter Cathedral to observe its blended architectural styles. Next, we will visit the Merced Market to learn about local dishes like hornado de Riobamba.

We will then visit the Museum of the Mummy of Guano to see the mummified body of missionary Fray Lázaro de Santofimia. If possible, we may meet the last ice maker of Chimborazo, Baltazar Ushca. Following this, we will go to Balbanera church, built in 1534 by indigenous people and Spaniards.

Next, we will have lunch at the Pucará Tambo Tourist Centre before touring the center, which offers panoramic views of Riobamba. Pucará Tambo, located in the rural parish of Cacha, preserves traditional textile-making practices. You'll learn about the customs and traditions of its people.

We will then return you to your hotel in Riobamba, completing the tour after approximately 9 hours.
