At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba for a walking tour of the historic centre. We'll begin at the city's viewpoint for views of the surrounding area and the Chimborazo Volcano. Next, we'll visit St. Peter Cathedral to see its architectural styles and baroque façade, followed by the Merced Market where you will learn about local dishes such as hornado de Riobamba.
We'll proceed to the Museum of the Mummy of Guano to see the mummified body of Fray Lázaro de Santofimia. Depending on circumstances, we may have the opportunity to see Baltazar Ushca, the last ice maker of Chimborazo. Afterwards, we'll visit Balbanera church, built by indigenous people and Spaniards in 1534, located by the lake.
The tour will include a stop for lunch at the Pucará Tambo Tourist Centre. After lunch, we will explore this centre, which offers panoramic views of Riobamba and showcases traditional practices in textiles, such as poncho making. You will learn about the customs and traditions of the area's inhabitants.
Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Riobamba, completing the tour after 9 hours.
