La Guajira Desert 7-Day Tour

Manaure, Cabo de la Vela, Punta Gallinas, and Nazareth are the main destinations of this unforgettable 7-day tour through the best of the La Guajira desert!

Description

Day 1: Riohacha - Manaure - Wayúu ranch

At 8:00 am we will pick you up from your chosen meeting point in Riohacha and travel to the beaches of Manaure. After lunch, we will visit a ranch to learn about the traditions and lifestyle of the Wayúu, Colombia's largest indigenous group. The day concludes with a bonfire on the beach and dinner in Manaure.

Day 2: Manaure - Los Flamencos Sanctuary - 'Ruta de la Sal'

After breakfast, we will visit the salt piles of Manaure. Following lunch, we will tour the salt factory complex, and later, drive to the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary. We will conclude the day with a salt massage along the Ruta de la Sal before returning to Manaure for dinner.

Day 3: Manaure - Cabo de la Vela

We start at 8 am with breakfast and head to Cabo de la Vela, passing through Uribia. After lunch, we will explore Pilón de Azúcar beach and enjoy panoramic views of the desert and Caribbean. We will have dinner and accommodation in Cabo de la Vela.

Day 4: Cabo de la Vela - Punta Gallinas

After breakfast, we travel to Punta Gallinas, passing the Jepirachi wind farm and other desert locations. We will have lunch, visit the Taroa dunes, and watch the sunset at the lighthouse of Punta Gallinas before returning for dinner.

Day 5: Punta Gallinas - Nazareth

After breakfast, we will swim at Taroa Beach and then travel to Nazareth. We will have lunch and visit Macuira Natural National Park, known for its unique oasis ecosystem. Dinner and accommodation will be in Punta Gallinas.

Day 6: Nazareth

We will have breakfast in Nazareth and explore the area's lush vegetation and waterfalls. After lunch, we will visit a beautiful desert location before dinner and rest in Nazareth.

Day 7: Nazareth - Riohacha

After breakfast in Nazareth, we will return to the meeting point in Riohacha, concluding our 7-day adventure.
