Wayuu Farm Tour
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the selected meeting point in Riohacha and head to one of the ranches in La Guajira to meet the Wayuu people. The Wayuu are indigenous people native to Colombia and Venezuela, living in rancherias along the La Guajira peninsula. They are known for their friendliness and hospitality, showcasing their community life centered on livestock and handicrafts.
After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive at the Jipialu farm to meet its people and discover their culture and way of life. Visitors can admire traditional handicrafts, including chinchorros (hammocks) and hand-woven backpacks and bags. This is also an opportunity to acquire unique souvenirs.
The experience will conclude with a tasting of a traditional Wayuu dish, which may include a bun or a stuffed arepa made with fried goat meat cooked over firewood. The visit will end, and we will return to the starting point in Riohacha four and a half hours after pickup.
