Wayuu Farm Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll gather at the selected meeting point in Riohacha and head to one of the ranches in La Guajira to meet the Wayuu people. The Wayuu are indigenous people native to Colombia and Venezuela, living in various rancherías along the La Guajira peninsula. They are known for their hospitality and will share insights into their lifestyle, focused on livestock and handicrafts.
After a 45-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Jipialu farm, where we'll meet the community and discover their culture. Visitors can admire traditional handicrafts, including chinchorros, hand-woven backpacks, and bags, providing an opportunity to purchase unique souvenirs. The experience will conclude with a tasting of a traditional Wayuu dish, which may include a bun or a stuffed arepa made with fried goat meat cooked over firewood. The visit will end with a return to the starting point in Riohacha four and a half hours after pickup.
