On this exciting ATV tour around Roatán, we will explore a shipwreck, interact with iguanas, and learn about the history of Honduras and its indigenous people. A boat ride around Oakridge is also included.
Description
At 9 am, we will pick you up at your accommodation or the cruise terminal in Roatan to begin the quad tour. Once on the ATVs, we will head to the coast to see the wreck of Dixon Cove and learn about its connection to the Nicaraguan Sandinista Revolution. Next, we will visit Arch's Iguana & Marine Park for a half-hour interaction with the iguanas.
After that, we will continue our journey to the Garifuna Cultural Center, where we will explore the history and culture of this ethnic group, which has roots in African, Kalinago, and Arawak aborigines. Following an hour-long visit, we will head to Oakridge, known as the "Venice of Roatan." Here, we will take a 20-minute boat ride through the mangrove canals and enjoy the scenic views of the houses among the vegetation. We will conclude our adventure with a dip at one of Oakridge's beaches.
Finally, we will return to the cruise terminal in Roatan and conclude the tour by 2 pm.
