On this ATV tour around Roatán, we'll explore a shipwreck, interact with iguanas, and learn about the history of Honduras and its indigenous population, followed by a boat ride around Oakridge.
Description
At 9 am, we will pick you up at your accommodation or the cruise terminal in Roatan to begin the quad tour around the island. Once on the ATVs, we'll head to the coast to view the wreck of Dixon Cove, linked to the Nicaraguan Sandinista Revolution. Next, we'll visit Arch's Iguana & Marine Park for a half-hour interaction with the iguanas.
Continuing our journey, we'll explore the eastern part of Roatan until we reach the Garifuna Cultural Center, where we will spend an hour learning about the heritage of this ethnic group with roots from African, Kalinago, and Arawak aborigines.
Afterward, we will travel to Oakridge, known as the "Venice of Roatan". We will take a 20-minute boat ride through the mangrove canals to see the scenic homes. The tour will conclude with a refreshing swim at one of Oakridge's beaches.
We will return to the cruise terminal in Roatan at 2 pm, concluding the adventure.
