On this exciting ATV tour around Roatán, we'll explore a shipwreck, interact with iguanas, and learn about the history of Honduras.
Description
At 9 am, we will pick you up at your accommodation or the cruise terminal in Roatan to begin the quad tour. The first stop will be the wreck of Dixon Cove, where we'll learn about its history related to the Nicaraguan Sandinista Revolution. Next, we will visit Arch's Iguana & Marine Park for a half-hour interaction and feeding session with iguanas.
Continuing on the ATVs, we will explore the eastern part of Roatan to reach the Garifuna Cultural Center. Here, we will spend an hour learning about the culture and history of this ethnic group, which has roots in African, Kalinago, and Arawak aborigines.
Our next destination is Oakridge, known as the "Venice of Roatan". We will take a 20-minute boat ride through the mangrove canals to admire the scenic houses, followed by a refreshing dip at one of Oakridge's beaches.
We will return to the cruise terminal in Roatan and conclude the tour at 2 pm.
