Tour of Pazo do Faramello
At the selected time, we will meet in the parking lot of the Pazo do Faramello, adjacent to the Xardin do Recordo. After gathering, we will explore the features of this typical Galician civil palace.
Built in the early 18th century in the baroque style, the Pazo is located over the Tinto River canyon, a tributary of the Sar River.
Our first stop will be the chapel of the Pazo do Faramello, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest, which holds a magnificent altarpiece carved by baroque master José Gambino. We will then proceed to the 19th-century French gardens, where an old cruceiro, the Real Fábrica de Papel, and industrial mills can be found.
We will walk through the surrounding forests of cherry and chestnut trees, which include paths from the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. The route will feature a wooden bridge and pathways lined with hydrangeas and camellias.
Next, we will visit the baroque terrace of Compostela, the canal of the Real Fábrica de Papel do Faramello, and the 18th-century dam in a captivating Celtic setting. Finally, we will tour the Adega da Arte, an old winery transformed into a store and exhibition space.
After an hour and 20 minutes, the tour will conclude with a glass of wine and a tasting of local products such as chocolate, honey, or jams.
