The museum’s art collection was begun by Cardinal Scipione Borghese in the seventeenth century. It includes mainly sculptures and antiquities. In the sculpture rooms, admire "Venus Victorious" by Antonio Canova, depicting Napoleon Bonaparte's sister. Other notable works include Bernini's "David", a Baroque masterpiece.
