Day Trip to Assisi + Wine Tasting

Set off on a day trip from Rome across the Italian countryside to discover the birthplace of St Francis in the charming town of Assisi.

Tour Description

After picking you up from your hotel at the indicated time, the tour departs to Lake Trasimeno and continues north towards Umbria. A coffee break will be taken at the foot of Spoleto. Upon arrival in Assisi, a guided tour will begin with a half-hour visit to the Basilica of St. Francis, housing the saint's tomb and notable frescoes and artworks.

Next, the itinerary includes a visit to Town Hall Square, where sites such as Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo del Capitolo del Popolo, Torre Civica, and the Temple of Minerva are located. The tour continues with a visit to the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis in the Santuario della Spogliazione.

A guided visit to a typical wine cellar will follow, featuring tastings of 4 glasses of Umbrian wines paired with bruschettas, cheeses, porchetta, and cured meats.

Before leaving Assisi, a brief stop at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli will be included. The tour concludes at Piazza della Repubblica in Rome, approximately 12 hours after the pickup.

Pickup Option

The day trip includes hotel pickup in central Rome. If you are staying in an apartment or Bed & Breakfast, you must be at the meeting point in Piazza della Repubblica, in front of the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, at 8 am. Timeliness is necessary to avoid delays.
