Set off on a day trip from Rome to discover the birthplace of St Francis in Assisi.

Tour Description

After picking you up from your hotel at the indicated time, we will travel towards the Umbria region, stopping for coffee at the foot of Spoleto. In Assisi, a guided tour will include a half hour visit to the Basilica of St. Francis, which features the saint's tomb and notable frescoes and artworks. Next, we will visit the Town Hall Square to see the Palazzo dei Priori, Palazzo del Capitolo del Popolo, Torre Civica, and the Temple of Minerva.

We will also visit the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis at the Santuario della Spogliazione. The trip includes a guided visit of about 2 hours to a typical wine cellar to taste 4 glasses of Umbrian wines, accompanied by bruschettas, cheeses, porchetta, and cured meats.

A brief stop at the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli will conclude the visit to important sites. The tour will finish in Piazza della Repubblica, Rome, approximately 12 hours after pickup.
