Rotorua Floatplane Flight

On this Rotorua floatplane tour, participants will fly over the heart of New Zealand's North Island, viewing its lakes and geothermal parks.

Options

When booking, you can choose from the following options. All depart from 1 Lakefront Drive, in Rotorua:

15-minute Flight

This option includes a floatplane flight over Mokoia Island and the volcanic caldera of Rotorua. Sightings include the lakes of Okotaina, Tarawera, Okareka, Rotokakahi and Tikitapu, and a view of Rotorua from Sulphur Point.

30-minute Flight

The 30-minute ride will feature views of the lakes of Rotorua and the highest part of Mount Tarawera, along with Waimangu Thermal Valley and Frying Pan Lake.

1-hour Flight + Stopover

This option allows for exploration of Rotorua's landscapes. The flight covers Mokoia Island, the caldera, and the crater of Mount Tarawera. It will continue to Waimangu Valley and includes views of Frying Pan Lake and Inferno Crater. The flight will land in the Hidden Orakei Korako Valley for a one-hour exploration before returning to the starting point.
