Description
At the scheduled time, we will meet at Centraal Station in Rotterdam, located in the heart of the city. The guided tour of the main monuments in this important port city will commence from this iconic landmark.
Our first stop will be the commercial area of Lijnbaan, the modern shopping district. Nearby, we will see the remarkable ‘pixillated’ Timmerhuise, which appears to sway in the wind, as well as the extraordinary ‘Markthal’ indoor market, resembling a spaceship.
Throughout the tour, you will learn about the innovative buildings visited. We will reflect on the city's history since its reconstruction in the 1950s, noting the traces that persist today.
We will stroll along the banks of the Maas river, concluding at Rotterdam’s most symbolic monument: the famous Erasmus Bridge. The views here are impressive!
