Rovaniemi Icebreaker Boat Cruise

On this trip, we will visit Snow Castle and the port of Kemi to enjoy an icebreaker boat ride on the Gulf of Bothnia and have the opportunity to float in its frozen waters.

Trip Details

We will meet at the selected meeting point in Rovaniemi and then travel approximately 2 hours by bus to SnowCastle in Kemi. Upon arrival, we will have 1-1.5 hours for check-in, resting, exploring ice exhibitions, and dining at the Lumihiutale restaurant.

Next, we will head to the port of Kemi, where the icebreaker awaits. We will board the ship, enjoy a welcome hot drink, and with an English-speaking guide, visit areas including the engine room and captain's area. You will experience the process of the ship breaking through the ice.

Weather permitting, we will engage in floating and walking on the frozen sea. Special suits will be provided for protection against the cold. Afterward, we will return to the port of Kemi and then to the meeting point in Rovaniemi, totaling 9 to 10 hours for the trip.
