Rovaniemi Icebreaker Cruise

On this trip, we will visit Snow Castle and the port of Kemi for an icebreaker boat ride on the Gulf of Bothnia and the opportunity to float in its frozen waters.

Trip Details

We will meet at the designated location in Rovaniemi and then travel approximately 2 hours by bus to SnowCastle in Kemi. Upon arrival, you will have 1-1.5 hours to check in for the boat, explore the ice exhibitions, and enjoy the Lumihiutale restaurant independently.

Then, we will head to the port of Kemi to board the icebreaker, where a welcome hot drink will be provided. An English-speaking guide will lead us through various areas of the ship.

While sailing, enjoy views of the Gulf of Bothnia as the ship navigates through icy waters. You can choose to experience this from the deck or inside the ship.

Participants will have the chance to float and, weather permitting, walk on the frozen sea. Special suits will be provided for protection against the cold. We'll then return to the port of Kemi and back to Rovaniemi after a total of 9 to 10 hours.

When reserving, you can choose from two options:

Tour without lunch: 3.5-hour icebreaker trip, lunch not included.Tour with lunch: 4-hour trip with a buffet lunch on board with drinks.

Floating and walking on ice may depend on weather conditions. The minimum height requirement for the floating activity is 140 cm.
