Embark on a captivating journey through the Rwandan savannah where you'll have the chance to see elephants, zebras, lions, antelopes, and a variety of other wildlife. This private safari in Akagera National Park, complemented by bird-watching at Lake Muhazi, promises an unforgettable experience.

Description

Your day begins at 5 am with a hotel pickup in Kigali, followed by a scenic three-hour drive to Akagera National Park, one of Rwanda's key natural landscapes. As you travel, enjoy breakfast in the jeep, featuring coffee and sweet treats.

The safari kicks off in the park’s richest biodiversity zones, where a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, buffaloes, zebras, and a wide variety of antelopes and impalas, can be encountered during your drive.

In addition to its impressive herbivorous species, Akagera boasts a thriving population of felines, which includes a notable number of leopards and lions. There is also a good chance to see other mammals such as hyenas, jackals, and baboons, as well as admiring herds of hippos in their natural habitat!

After the three-hour safari, we'll make our way to the picnic area within the park for a delicious lunch featuring Rwandan burritos, samosas, fresh fruit, and banana cake. Once we finish our meal, we will depart from the savannah and set our sights on Lake Muhazi.

The shoreline tour around the lake aims to identify the prominent bird species that reside here. Look out for the mousebird, the African white heron, and the grey-necked crowned crane. Keep your eyes trained skyward!

The excursion concludes with a return journey to your hotel in Kigali, where we anticipate arriving by 5 pm.
